The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the financial reporting and transactional accounting associated with company’s development, construction, and property management activities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take on a challenge, be responsible for all accounting, budgeting, and financial oversight for the division, and grow their leadership skills. The position reports directly to the CFO.
Duties:
-Process owner for all aspects of day to day financial and accounting functions for the company's property and construction entities.
-Process owner for financial and other reporting in support of operational performance management. This includes establishing and monitoring controls and processes to accurately report percentage of completion accounting for construction activity.
-Establish and maintain periodic (Monthly, quarterly, annual) reporting packages detailing construction project and leased property budget to actual variance analysis. Assist project team in understanding project cost details, project charges, and other project accounting issues.
-Ensure compliance with external requirements (particularly bank covenants), internal controls, policies and procedures. Support compliance with all national, state and local tax and regulatory requirements.
-Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and make necessary budget management decisions.
-Assist with construction project budgeting, planning, scheduling and execution.
Qualifications:
-Degree in Accounting or related field.
-Minimum 5 years of experience with 2-4 years in the construction and or property management industries preferred. Previous experience at a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm is a plus.
-Produce US GAAP financial statements and support as necessary annual financial statement audits. Ability to manage and maintain best practice procedures as it relates to account reconciliation and transactional accounting. Ability to communicate with all levels and functions within the Company.
