Senior Project Coordinator

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior Project Coordinator for their Vancouver, Washington location. In this role you will manage multiple project/program schedules for their transmission department. Tasks that your expertise will be influential are schedule reporting, bundle schedule maintenance, review and comment on 3rd party schedules, time impact analysis, cost, and resource loading, and regularly performs schedule updates in Microsoft Server. This position is a one-year contract with the opportunity to renew on an annual basis, employee benefits are also included!

 

Pay Rate / Range: $34.00 – 36.30/HR (DOE)

Location: Vancouver, Washington – Local candidates only!

 

Responsibilities of Senior Project Coordinator

  • Support project that are assigned by project managers from beginning to end by aiding on the PMI-based project management methodology, best practices, and internal skill development.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with engineering, construction, contractors, field staff, project staff, and other stakeholders in the business unit, on a consistent and/or as needed basis.
  • Create/draft, written and verbal sponsor or stakeholder communications throughout the life of the project.
  • Coordinate with various resource managers related project control tools relative to demand capacity, set up and configured in accordance with the organizations expectations and synchronized with the governance and policy, tools, systems and procedures.
  • Manually convert legacy schedules to current version.
  • Develop and maintain earned value analysis.
  • Identify and record resources activities/tasks in MS project and develop various reports from Transmission’s existing reporting tools.
  • Develop lists of design, procurement, construction, and post construction activities based on review of design documents, examination of site conditions and discussions with other project coordinators, design resource managers and internal/external contractors.
  • Identify major project milestones in the MS project schedule and inform project managers and/or project coordinators if errors exist.
  • Develop and recommend realistic task/activity durations based on inputs from the different resource organizations, understand resource availability based on discussion with task owners, teams, organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Develop Gantt charts, resources loaded schedules, 6 weeks look ahead, and milestones schedules as required by the project team and other stakeholders.
  • Leverage MS Project timelines, critical path, import/export, reporting, etc. Recommend best practices to the team.
  • Request appropriate project resources on behalf of the PM to fulfill project needs; may submit resource requests on behalf of other internal organizations.

 

Requirements of Senior Project Coordinator:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or Management, Organizational Development, Computer Science, or other related technical discipline is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience is required with an applicable Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7 years of experience is required with an applicable Associate’s degree.
  • 9 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
  • Experience should include direct work experience in project coordination / control capacity, including all aspects of scheduling, schedule management and scheduling conflict resolutions.
  • Proficiency utilizing SharePoint is required (Including to store, analyze and manipulate date).
  • Experience in the electric utility industry data is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple (or bundled) project schedules is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, understand and effectively document technical data is preferred.
  • Ability to store, manipulate, and organize large numbers of files and folders using Microsoft Windows networks or other document management programs is preferred.
