An exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on financial executive to join a growing, private equity-backed manufacturing company located in Greensboro / Winston-Salem, NC. With approximately $60MM in annual revenue and two operational sites, the organization is poised for significant expansion. The Interim CFO will be a key partner to the CEO and ownership group in driving financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. The Interim CFO will be a key partner to the CEO and ownership group in driving financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. This role demands a results-driven leader who excels in dynamic, high-growth environments and brings deep expertise in financial planning, cost accounting, ERP implementation, and cross-functional leadership.
- Location: Winston Salem, NC (ONSITE)
- Contract Duration: 90-120 days.
- Compensation: $85.00/hr. - $95.00/hr. DOE.
- Targeted Start Date: Immediately!
Key Responsibilities of Interim CFO:
Strategic Finance Leadership
- Lead overall financial strategy, capital planning, and cash flow management.
- Advise the CEO and board on financial performance and strategic planning.
- Present weekly KPIs and monthly reporting packages to stakeholders.
- Oversee all finance functions: general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, inventory, and close processes.
- Ensure audit readiness, debt covenant compliance, and budget variance analysis.
- Support ERP (NetSuite) implementation and develop financial dashboards and reporting tools.
- Build and mentor a lean, high-performing finance team.
- Collaborate closely with operations, sales, legal, and HR to align finance with enterprise goals.
- Serve as the key liaison with auditors, banks, vendors, and investors.
- Drive improvements in gross margin accuracy and cost accounting.
- Lead financial modeling, scenario planning, and ROI analysis for capital projects.
- Support operational expansion and new investment opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- 5–10 years in progressive finance leadership roles, with 5+ years as a CFO, VP of Finance, or similar in a manufacturing or building products environment.
- Experience in private equity-backed or growth-stage companies (<$100MM revenue preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business required; CPA or MBA a plus.
- Cost accounting and inventory finance.
- ERP transitions (NetSuite preferred).
- Financial modeling, forecasting, and board-level reporting.
- Talent development across cross-site finance teams.
- Leading clean audits and scalable financial processes.
