Senior Project Manager – Transmission Product Management
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior Project Manager for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position will manage key projects and programs related to how Network Integration Transmission and Point-to-Point services are offered, impacting Transmission Operations and Transmission Planning. Responsibilities include developing process maps, assisting with business practice development, supporting product requirement identification for the Transmission Study and Expansion Process, and ensuring a transparent process for Network Integration, Point-to-Point, and Conditional Firm services.

Pay Range: $68.00 – $74.00/HR
Location: Vancouver, WA (In office 1-2 times per week)
Key Responsibilities for Senior Project Manager:
- Summarize from the Position Responsibilities portion of the API (remove proprietary information)
- Provide project management expertise and support for assigned product development and strategic initiative projects, offering guidance on project management methodology, best practices, and skill development.
- Communicate and collaborate with implementing organizations, product managers, and policy developers to facilitate product development.
- Implement and track approved products: Point-To-Point (PTP), Network Integration Transmission (NT), Ancillary Services, and Conditional Firm (CF).
- Plan, develop, and implement approved transmission products.
- Ensure products meet customer needs, are financially strong, and comply with OATT and transmission rate schedules.
- Assist with wind and solar integrations, re-dispatch, and curtailment data analysis.
- Analyze customer usage of products and how they deploy them in their business.
- Implement approved product design choices within set time frames.
- Provide recommendations on project expectations, roadmaps, deliverables, and goals.
- Identify necessary subject matter expertise for project success.
- Recommend appropriate project resources and collaborate with business units to resolve allocation issues.
- Schedule and facilitate project team meetings.
- Recommend roadmaps to achieve program initiatives and project objectives.
- Draft project plans, resource strategies, and funding estimates.
- Notify management of potential changes in project scope, schedule, or performance.
- Organize and facilitate project teams, serving as liaison between business and technical aspects.
- Monitor project progress, alerting management to obstacles and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate activities to meet goals within the prescribed time frame and budget.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure business needs and dependencies are understood.
- Address politically sensitive issues with management guidance.
- Provide background information, options, and recommendations for project decisions.
- Maintain official records and ensure compliance with INFOSEC and lifecycle management standards.
Requirements for Senior Project Manager:
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration or management, organizational development, engineering, computer science, or other technical related discipline is preferred.
- 10 years of experience is required with a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
- 12 years of experience is required with a bachelor’s degree in a non-applicable field.
- 14 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
- Knowledge of product management as well as process management.
- Strong analytic skills and the ability to perform root cause identification/analysis.
- Experience influencing and integrating change in a large, diverse organization.
- Experience leading project teams, management review, and decision-making sessions supporting organization level improvement efforts.
- Experience managing projects in accordance with industry project management principles.
- Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences.
- Ability to assess and estimate project costs.
- Experience in the utility business preferred.
- PMI or PMP certification preferred.
- Experience in resource planning preferred.
