OVERVIEW OF MANAGER, CEO INITIATIVES
This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the CEO of a mission-driven social enterprise that champions disability inclusion. The Manager, CEO Initiatives will lead projects, deliver communications, and execute initiatives that support the transformation and modernization of the organization. This individual will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to implement high-impact initiatives, drive change management, and advance organizational goals. The ideal candidate is strategic, organized, and mission-focused with a strong ability to influence and manage cross-functional teams.
Job Location: Portland, OR. (Hybrid based on project work.)
Type: DIRECT HIRE!
Salary: 112K-126K, DOE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
40% CEO Communications
- Collaborate with the CEO, Marketing, and Disability Inclusion teams to develop communication roadmaps for internal and external audiences, including Relay’s Board of Directors.
- Manage the project execution of CEO communications, including newsletters, presentation decks, videos, social media posts, and other channels.
- Ensure all communications are disability-inclusive and aligned with Relay’s mission and values.
40% Project & Change Management
- Lead CEO-related projects through all stages—scheduling, budgeting, change management, and issue resolution.
- Define project scope, business deliverables, and charters in collaboration with senior management.
- Communicate complex issues to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and actionable plans.
- Apply Prosci change management methodologies and integrate them into project plans.
- Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and develop reports on key initiatives.
20% Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in business operations, communications, project management, or change management.
- Proficiency in disability justice, inclusion, and equity principles.
- Skilled in executive-level presentations, Microsoft 365, and project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with disability inclusion or working with adults with disabilities strongly desired.
- MBA or completion of an Executive Business Education program is highly desirable.
- PMP or Prosci Change Management Certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass a criminal history background check.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Action-oriented and proactive problem-solver.
- Able to communicate and manage change effectively.
- Strong ethical judgment and a commitment to Relay’s core values.
