Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the General Ledger Accounting Manager and is primarily responsible for supporting the following key areas:

 

Key Responsibilities for Senior Staff Accountant:

  • Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations for accounts that are complex in nature, have large volumes of data, material balances, and/or are visible to upper management.
  • Review and explanation of changes in the balance sheet, income statement, and other balances from period to period (fluctuation analysis).
  • Summarization and presentation of certain information to management.
  • Effective management of workload and deadlines including enhanced quarter-and-year-end activities.
  • Understanding of GAAP, SOX controls requirements, and the financial statement framework.
  • Continuous improvement efforts including designing and implementing efficiencies, enhancing process documentation, and advancing communication within and among teams.
  • Assisting internal and external audit teams and preparing ad hoc reports.

 

Requirements/Qualifications for Senior Staff Accountant:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience (preferred experience to include responsibility for company general ledger and financial statements).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel software, ERP systems (preferably ORACLE) and 10-key competency.
  • Exemplary writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality relationships that support all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Willingness to challenge conventional thinking for the betterment of the company.
