Clark County Food Bank (CCFB) is dedicated to alleviating hunger and addressing its root causes within our community.
Vision: To inspire and grow a network of community health. Through our efforts, we hope to be a positive influence and provider for healthy lifestyles, professional growth, and opportunities to serve the community.
Mission: To alleviate hunger and its root causes. Achieving our mission is done in two parts. By providing emergency food relief to individuals and families through our 50 nonprofit partner agencies at 100+ distribution sites, along with food bank led programs, to serve neighbors facing food insecurity throughout Clark County. In addition, the CCFB takes a preventative stance against the various causes of hunger by implementing its own programs and supporting the efforts of our partners to directly address systemic factors contributing to food insecurity.

The President of Clark County Food Bank (CCFB) will serve as a dynamic leader who balances the critical operational responsibilities of running an effective and efficient food distribution network with a deep commitment to addressing the systemic root causes of hunger. This role requires a strategic, mission-driven leader who excels in managing complex logistics.
The President will oversee all aspects of the organization, from day-to-day operations and staff management to long-term strategy and community engagement. They will be responsible for ensuring high-quality food distribution in conjunction with the CCFB’s partners while simultaneously supporting and spearheading initiatives that address barriers to food security. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can seamlessly integrate operational excellence with a commitment to implementation and support of root causes programming in conjunction with its community partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRESIDENT:
Operational Leadership and Efficiency
- Oversee the organization’s core food distribution operations, ensuring that systems, processes, and logistics are optimized to deliver consistent, high-quality services to the community.
- Ensure efficient management of the organization’s physical resources, including warehouses, delivery systems, food sourcing, and inventory.
- Develop and maintain operational systems that support effective food procurement, storage, and distribution to food-insecure communities in conjunction with our nonprofit and for-profit partners, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Utilize data and technology to drive operational improvements, measure outcomes, and ensure that the organization is effectively reaching its goals for serving food-insecure populations.
- Lead the implementation of innovative and sustainable approaches to food distribution, with a focus on reducing waste and improving food quality.
- Address the root causes of hunger by working with and supporting community partners to implement programming such as financial literacy, workforce development, housing access and enhanced nutrition education to promote better overall health.
- Engage and collaborate with government agencies, community organizations, and policymakers that promote food security through innovative root cause programming.
- Partner with community organizations to help find solutions that go beyond food assistance and empower individuals and families to overcome hunger.
- Set the strategic direction of the organization in conjunction with the Board of Directors, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term goals, priorities, and strategies to address hunger at its roots.
- Work closely with the Board to create and execute a vision that promotes both operational integration and excellence of root cause initiatives.
- Implement and drive the strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and values.
- Monitor and evaluate progress toward achieving strategic objectives and make adjustments as necessary.
- Lead the development and execution of programs that provide immediate food relief while simultaneously working to eliminate the conditions that cause food insecurity.
- Develop strategic partnerships with stakeholders, including donors, nonprofit and for-profit partners, government agencies, schools, and community groups to further the organization’s mission of ending hunger.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational success and guide decision-making.
- In conjunction with its partners, engage with communities affected by hunger, ensuring their voices are centered in the organization’s work and that services meet their needs.
- Lead and support the design and development of programs that combine food assistance with long-term solutions to food insecurity.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with community leaders, volunteers, and partners to strengthen the CCFB’s impact and deepen its roots in the community.
- Promote and support programs that empower individuals and families to become self-sufficient in order to reduce reliance on emergency food services.
- Oversee the organization’s financial health in conjunction with the Board to ensure that resources are allocated effectively to support both operational needs and root cause work.
- Develop the budget for Board approval and then manage the budget to ensure financial sustainability and transparency in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Identify and pursue diverse funding streams, including government programs, grants, individual donations, and corporate partnerships, with an emphasis on building long-term financial stability.
- Work with the Board and development team to implement innovative fundraising strategies that support the dual focus on operations and root cause work.
- Team Leadership and Organizational Culture
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and development of executive-level talent, management and support staff, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute strategies for staff retention and growth, focusing on building a high-performing team to support and advance the organization’s strategic goals.
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Keep the CCFB focus on food insecurity and related issues.
- Equip staff at all levels with the necessary training, resources and support they need to effectively carry out their responsibilities, and drive professional development and capacity building initiatives to address talent gaps and enhance team capabilities.
- Implement and uphold policies and practices that foster a positive and universally supportive workplace where all team members are empowered to contribute to the organization’s mission.
- Lead the organization’s implementation of its strategic plan focusing on long-term solutions to address food insecurity through root cause initiatives.
- Build or participate in coalitions with organizations who are engaged in improving the lives of neighbors in our community facing food insecurity.
- Engage in public information efforts that raise awareness about the root causes of hunger and how they may be addressed.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for the organization, representing its mission and impact to media, government, and the broader community.
- In considering public policies, take into account the diverse nature of the CCFB’s numerous stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in both nonprofit leadership and operational management, with a strong track record in running impactful and efficient programs.
- Strong understanding of the root causes of hunger and food insecurity, with a demonstrated commitment to addressing these issues.
- Experience managing logistics, food distribution systems, or other complex operations, particularly within the nonprofit or social services sector.
- Demonstrated commitment and experience in leading organizations or initiatives that advocate for addressing the needs of those most vulnerable in our community.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with day-to-day management, ensuring both short-term operational success and long-term impact.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, fundraising, and resource development.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire staff, engage community partners, and influence policymakers.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including those impacted by poverty and food insecurity.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, business or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree in a relevant area is a plus.
- Agreement to relocate to Clark County is required.
