Technical Writer – Healthcare Industry
Our client, a leading healthcare company dedicated to revolutionizing the industry, is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, managing, and refining technical documentation to enhance clarity, usability, and consistency across publications and products.
Type: Contract – 4+ months duration
Pay Range: $32.00 – 35.00 hourly, DOE
Location: 100% Remote! (Must reside in OR, WA, ID, or UT)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing, managing, and refining technical documentation to enhance clarity, usability, and consistency across publications and products.
Type: Contract – 4+ months duration
Pay Range: $32.00 – 35.00 hourly, DOE
Location: 100% Remote! (Must reside in OR, WA, ID, or UT)
Responsibilities of the Technical Writer:
- Document process/data flows.
- Review and edit technical documents (e.g., medication policies, patient-educational materials, research studies) for quality, clarity, and consistency.
- Edit and improve presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, posters).
- Follow established processes and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and editorial standards.
- Support the production of promotional and website content based on feedback from Subject Matter Experts.
- Coordinate web content updates with IT, business partners, or external vendors.
- Provide Sales/Marketing support, including responding to requests for proposals.
- Track and manage document production for timeliness, quantity, and quality.
- Plan and manage work, including scheduling and researching data for technical projects.
- Develop and implement customized technical documents tailored to specific needs.
- Collaborate with business partners and subject matter experts to gather necessary information.
- Apply knowledge of customer and business issues to deliver impactful projects.
- Build expertise in company products, services, and strategies to improve deliverables.
- 4+ years of technical writing experience is required. Specific experience in health journalism or medical writing is a plus!
- Previous experience within the healthcare industry is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, journalism, communication, or related disciplines.
- Distill complex, specialized information into clear, consistent messaging for diverse audiences.
- Create and manage Word and PowerPoint templates with consistent formatting and structure.
- Coordinate effectively with staff and external partners through clear verbal and written communication.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
- Negotiate and resolve complex project and team issues with diplomacy.
- Communicate effectively and adapt to shifting deadlines and concurrent projects.
- Write technical content across various media with clarity and precision.
- Apply marketing principles to support departmental needs.
- Build strong relationships with internal partners and provide consulting support.
- Simplify technical messages into consumer-friendly language.
