Senior IT Project Manager (Hybrid)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position will work with a variety of subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist with verifying that all applicable regulatory requirements are met and projects with potential impacts to the grid are successfully managed to allow the safe and reliable operation of the transmission grid. This PM position is regularly assigned multiple, critical, and highly visible projects related to changing or adding new systems or equipment which will be integrated into the transmission grid.

Key Responsibilities for Project Manager:

Support and facilitate manager-assigned project or multiple projects, relating primarily to operational requirements for Transmission Grid Modernization changes, from beginning to end in collaboration with senior management, external industry entities, and stakeholders by providing expert support on the PMI-based project management methodology, best practices, and internal skill development.
Develop / draft and distribute written and verbal sponsor and stakeholder communication.
Take a proactive stance on project risk management.
Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the inter-connected workings of various Control Center systems and their inter-related dependencies.
Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements.
- U.S Citizenship and valid U.S. Driver’s License is preferred.
- Master’s degree in business administration or management, organizational development, computer science, engineering, or other related technical discipline is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management, organizational development, computer science, engineering, or other closely related field is required.
- 10+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, is required.
- 5+ years of experience in the Electric Utility sector with an emphasis on system control and communications planning, electronic design, communications maintenance, technical operations, or related field is required.
- PMP Certification is preferred.
