Gas & Regulatory Accounting Manager
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Gas & Regulatory Accounting Manager to lead a critical accounting team that ensures accurate and timely reporting for complex gas and regulatory mechanisms. Salary Range: $120,000 – $170,000 DOE
Annual incentive bonus target: 15% (Based on performance)
Location: Portland, Oregon – HYBRID – 2-3 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities for the Accounting Manager:
- Manage the gas and regulatory accounting department, overseeing accounting for cost of gas, gas storage, reserves, environmental liabilities, credits and allowances, regulatory accounting, and unbilled revenue.
- Oversee reporting to various state, federal, and international agencies.
- Contribute to regulatory filings with state utility commissions.
- Perform in-depth research, analysis, and review of regulatory accounting matters to provide leadership with sound recommendations.
- Lead cross-departmental collaboration and serve as a key resource for regulatory accounting issues.
- Support both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.
- Drive process improvements, efficiency gains, and automation initiatives within accounting and reporting functions.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and mentoring of staff.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required.
- At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
- Public accounting experience (2+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; SEC reporting experience preferred.
- Utility industry accounting knowledge highly desired.
- Experience with SAP and Allegro preferred.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and lead teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate group processes and presentations.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with a balance of detail orientation and big-picture thinking.
