Director of Risk Management – HEALTHCARE (Onsite)
Motus is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Las Vegas to identify an experienced Director of Risk Management. This role offers the opportunity to lead patient safety and risk management initiatives across a dynamic acute care environment, driving organizational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
The Director of Risk Management is responsible for the ongoing effectiveness and leadership of the organization’s risk management and patient safety programs. This includes oversight of claim management, risk assessments, root cause analysis, patient safety initiatives, and the integration of system-wide risk reduction strategies. Working closely with department directors and the executive team, this leader ensures compliance with regulatory standards, provides education and guidance across departments, and fosters a proactive culture of safety and accountability.

Key responsibilities of the Director of Risk Management:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the facility’s risk management and patient safety programs.
- Manage the claim management function, including investigation, analysis, and resolution.
- Conduct risk assessments for new services and operational processes.
- Facilitate root cause analyses, action planning, and system-level learning initiatives.
- Chair and manage the Patient Safety Council, integrating corporate TERM programs into facility operations.
- Partner with executive leadership and department heads to implement corporate and facility risk reduction strategies.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
- Analyze data, develop reports, and communicate findings to leadership and governance bodies.
- Serve as a resource and educator to promote awareness and engagement in patient safety and risk reduction efforts.
Required qualifications of the Director of Risk Management:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (required).
- 2–5 years of Risk Management experience in a hospital or acute care setting (required).
- Proven leadership and management experience in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated success in patient safety, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
