Project Manager 2 (Portland, OR. / HYBIRD: Onsite 3 days per 2-week period)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Project Manager. This full-time contract Project Manager 2 role supports the Real Property Field Services team and is based in Portland, OR. The position partners with the Supervisory Realty Specialist to manage complex, high-impact transmission projects requiring real property support. Real Property Field Services provides acquisition, disposal, right-of-way management, encroachment resolution, and landowner coordination across WA, OR, ID, and MT. This role ensures effective project coordination, schedule alignment, and stakeholder engagement to support construction timelines and operational objectives. The ideal candidate is proactive, diplomatic, and skilled at facilitating sensitive, multi-stakeholder projects.
This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits!
Pay Range: $63.00 - $67.00/hr. DOE.

Key Responsibilities for Project Manager:
- Lead and support assigned projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Partner with business units, senior leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders to define requirements, identify dependencies, secure resources, and deploy effective solutions.
- Develop project plans, resource strategies, schedules, funding estimates, and roadmaps; facilitate kick-offs, team meetings, and stakeholder communications.
- Monitor project progress, risks, milestones, and deliverables; provide regular status reporting and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate Real Property Services efforts in support of transmission, substation, communications, and capital projects, ensuring land rights, permits, and required documentation are acquired and delivered on schedule.
- Serve as primary point of contact for Real Property Services deliverables, including land rights reviews, permission-to-enter documents, acquisition requests, appraisals, and final land acquisition packages.
- Track critical real property and stakeholder dependency milestones using tools such as SharePoint, MS Project, ProjectWise, and Excel.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; maintain risk registers and proactively escalate issues impacting scope or timeline.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering, geospatial, valuation, survey, forestry, and technical support teams to ensure project alignment.
- Support executive decision-making by preparing background materials, facilitating meetings, and presenting recommendations.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, document lessons learned, conduct post-project reviews, and support project transitions as needed.
Requirements for Project Manager:
- BA in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Computer Science, or related technical field preferred. 5 – 10 years’ experience required!
- Experience must include demonstrated project management across process development, planning, and execution.
- Knowledge of Real Property Services principles and practices, including coordination with Geospatial, Survey & Mapping, Realty, or related support functions.
- Proficiency in MS Project.
