Media & Mail Services (ONSITE)
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Media & Mail Services Technician in their Portland, Oregon location. This role provides operational support across multiple service functions, including digital printing, reprographics, graphics production, and mail services. The position supports a diverse, organization-wide customer base, delivering high-quality service to both centralized office locations and field teams. This team is responsible for managing the intake, processing, and distribution of business communications, as well as providing print and media production services. This role contributes to efficient day-to-day operations by ensuring timely delivery, cost-effective solutions, and a high standard of service.
This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits!
Pay Rate or Range: $32.00 – 34.50/hr., DOE
Location: Portland, OR. (ONSITE!)
Key Responsibilities for Media & Mail Services Technician:
- Operate system interfaces and manages physical and electronic documents in compliance with security, classification, and copyright standards.
- Maintain inventory using established thresholds; coordinate replenishment, verify deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide customer-focused solutions by assessing needs, recommending cost-effective options, and supporting large or complex projects.
- Prepare and optimize documents for production using pre-press tools; create reusable templates and automate finishing processes where possible.
- Perform quality control checks, audits, and equipment calibrations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Set up and execute high-volume production, collation, and assembly projects with a focus on efficiency and error reduction.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs as needed, document service and downtime activity.
- Monitor work-in-process, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues to maintain productivity and service levels.
- Interpret customer requirements from various formats and translate them into accurate production plans and deliverables.
- Track and report production data, materials usage, and performance metrics to support forecasting and operational improvements.
- Process, sort, and distribute mail in accordance with security, accuracy, and service standards; resolve delivery issues as needed.
- Provide courier services, including operating vehicles, coordinating routes, and handling sensitive or time-critical materials.
- Select cost-effective shipping methods by evaluating service levels, delivery requirements, and carrier options.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, maintaining secure and organized workspaces.
Requirements/Qualification for Media & Mail Services Technician:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of print shop/media services experience.
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of printing, binding, and document editing standards.
- Experience with pre-press software and production management systems.
- Familiarity with production setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance of printing and finishing equipment.
