Our client, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to improving member and provider experience, is seeking a Document Processing Specialist I for their Lewiston, ID. location. This role will support high-volume document imaging, mail operations, and records processing activities. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential handling of member and business documents.
Pay Range: $18.75/hr.
Location: Lewiston, ID (100% ONSITE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM PT
Duration: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities of a Document Processing Specialist:
- Prepare incoming documents for scanning by opening mail, removing staples, repairing pages, and organizing materials.
- Scan and index documents into internal systems while ensuring image quality and accuracy.
- Verify completed images and route records to appropriate departments.
- Receive, sort, distribute, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Operate automated mail processing equipment including inserters, sorters, and postage systems.
- Ensure accuracy of mailings and maintain production logs.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report operational issues.
- Maintain organized work areas and monitor daily production deadlines.
- Track inventory and maintain adequate supplies.
- Handle sensitive and protected information with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Follow established privacy, security, and quality standards.
- Ensure only authorized personnel have access to secure work areas.
Qualifications of a Document Processing Specialist
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a mailroom, records, imaging, office support, inventory, or similar environment preferred.
- Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operations.
- Knowledge of USPS regulations is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume production environment with equipment noise and varying temperatures.
- Availability for occasional overtime as business needs require.
