Business Analyst – Change Management

Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is seeking a full-time contract Business Analyst 2 to join their team in Vancouver, Washington. This role supports the Transmission Field Services organization, specifically within the Field Strategy and Operational Excellence division. This division provides critical support services, including Work Planning & Evaluation, Business Controls and Information, and Business Transformation, all aimed at enhancing the operations, construction, and maintenance of the transmission system. This Business Analyst will work on key initiatives and projects, collaborating across transmission organizations to help implement operational excellence strategies. Pay Range: $46.00 – 51.00, DOE
Location: Vancouver, Washington – Hybrid – 6-days per month onsite
Key Responsibilities for Business Analyst:
- Facilitate the gathering and analysis of business information to clarify operations, document current/future states, and evaluate solution alternatives.
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders to gather requirements and present solution recommendations for approval.
- Analyze information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and draft project and change management plans.
- Assist in preparing business cases to support strategic initiatives.
- Perform risk analysis by evaluating financial levels, project integration, cost controls, and effort requirements.
- Coordinate planning, milestones, and schedules, integrating tasks into cohesive project documentation.
- Identify project deliverables and develop tools such as user guides, manuals, and communication plans.Recommend evaluation criteria, performance metrics, and process improvements based on feedback and trends.
- Provide organizational analysis to optimize resources, streamline processes, and improve efficiency.
- Develop documentation to analyze process repeatability, support training, and ensure business continuity.
- Support change management initiatives by developing communication and training materials to facilitate smooth transitions
Requirements for Business Analyst:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Computer Science or Organizational Development (or closely related field) is preferred.
- With an applicable Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of experience is required.
- Without an applicable degree, 9+ years of experience is required.
- Experience should be consistent with the specific requirements of business analysis and progressively more technical in nature.
- Experience must include knowledge of analysis and change management principles and methodologies with a solid understanding of how analytics and change management support the change process.
- Experience must include demonstrated experience in providing Change Management programmatic set up and support to organizations.
- Experience with project and change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
- Intermediate proficiency in Visio (flowcharts), MS Project, Access, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated Technical Interviewing Skills.
- Experience with the Prosci methodology for Change Management is preferred.
- Change Management Professional designation is preferred.
- Energy/utility industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts is preferred.
- Knowledge of Maintenance Management, Asset Management, and Equipment Analysis for the Energy industry is preferred.
- Experience with Power BI is preferred.
