Division Manager – Janitorial Services
Our client, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting employment opportunities for people of all abilities is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Division Manager to lead a team of professionals and promote positive mission growth. The ideal candidate will help shape the future of the division and ensure its success, promoting both mission and financial stability.
Pay Range: $84K – $94K DOE.
Location: Fully onsite in Portland, Oregon (Open to Salem candidates as well)
Schedule: 10 AM to 6:30 PM Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities for Division Manager:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the janitorial division, ensuring quality customer service and a productive, safe work environment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of procedures to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and workflow within the division.
- Maintain and manage the division’s budget, ensuring compliance and financial stability while adhering to capital budget allowances for supplies and equipment.
- Supervise and support janitorial staff, providing proper training, delegation, and oversight to ensure task execution and team development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contract administrators, facilities managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and contract compliance.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, laws, and regulations, reviewing and acting on Safety Committee reports, and reporting issues to leadership.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management for janitorial supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient use of resources and tracking inventory levels.
- Develop bids for new and renewal contracts, securing and maintaining contracts, while ensuring contract rates are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Actively engage in team development through regular training, process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Maintain professional relationships with internal staff, customers, leadership, and board members, setting an example for ethical practices and healthy boundaries.
- Ensure adequate supervision coverage in the absence of supervisors, performing site inspections and managing team operations.
- Represent the division in committees, participate in organizational meetings, and provide input on long-range operational planning when needed.
Requirements/Qualifications for Division Manager:
- A minimum of four years of general management experience in janitorial operations or a similar business is required.
- Strong sales aptitude with proven experience in driving business growth, generating sales, and producing results is required.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and motivate teams is required.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with the janitorial staff is required.
- P&L budgeting/accounting experience and the ability to manage financial statements is preferred but not required, as the hiring manager is willing to provide training for the right candidate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Calendar, and other digital tools is required.
- Ability to maintain and develop policies, systems, and workflows is required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
