Financial Risk Analyst
Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility company, is looking for a Financial Risk Analyst for their Tualatin, OR location. In this role, you will This position will support a team of 15 professionals, including both full-time employees, focusing on Contracts, Credit, and Asset Management. The team collaborates daily on key initiatives including credit terms negotiations, contract administration, billing analysis, and risk management. Pay Range: $27.00 – $30.75/HR
Location: Tualatin, OR (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (Benefits Eligible)
Key Responsibilities for Financial Risk Analyst:
- Analyze and evaluate company exposure to risk by monitoring and evaluating transactions and overall portfolios to identify new or excessive risks, anomalies, or unusual transactions. Evaluate the adequacy of risk measurements and monitor risk limits, reporting findings to senior management.
- Negotiate credit terms with vendors and counterparties, including Guarantees, Letters of Credit, and Credit Support Annexes, to optimize financial agreements and minimize risk.
- Support contract administration and tracking processes by managing documentation, tracking key milestones, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Conduct billing analysis related to contracts, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy in invoicing. Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve billing issues.
- Develop reports and provide data for regulatory compliance and risk analysis decisions. Support the review and validation of risk analysis findings and present data to senior management.
- Maintain and update corporate credit policies and scoring matrices, ensuring they reflect current practices and regulatory requirements. Perform credit analyses of customers, vendors, and other parties as needed.
- Ensure the integrity of data in risk management systems by regularly reviewing data inputs and outputs to identify and rectify inconsistencies.
Requirements/Qualifications for Financial Risk Analyst:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Effective time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3 years in a related field with a focus on accounting, credit management, and contracts.
- Intermediate knowledge of risk management concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and report generation applications.
- PMP or CPA certification Preferred.
