Social Media Engagement Specialist – Healthcare (Part-time / Remote)
Our client, a leading health care company dedicated to revolutionizing the industry, seeks a Part-time Social Media Engagement Specialist to join their team. This role serves as the front line for after-hours monitoring and community response, managing social media channels to help health plans build community, manage reputation, and increase brand support. Responsibilities include monitoring social channels, analyzing online conversations, responding appropriately, and providing high-level reports on trends, sentiment, and engagement. Successful candidates will possess a deep understanding of social platforms and tools, stay current on social media trends, and focus on best practices to build social engagement.
Location: 100% Remote! – Candidates must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah to be considered.
Contract duration: 6+ months.
Pay Range: $31.25/hr.
Hours / 2-10 Hrs. Weekly: We primarily anticipate support needed on weekends (1-3 hours each weekend day) for monitoring and reporting on activity, plus some weekday evenings (1-2 hours/an evening) when we are actively in crisis management
Key Responsibilities for the Social Media Engagement Specialist:
- Monitor and track social media conversations, hashtags and keywords related to our brand(s), industry trends and/or reputational risks after regular business hours (evenings, weekends, as needed). Hours may be flexible and to be determined based on current events.
- Analyze online conversations, identifying key themes and risks, sentiment and engagement patterns. Create and share high-level reports on social media activity.
- Identify and flag potential issues, crises or opportunities for engagement, escalating to relevant teams as needed.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of our brand’s social media presence, tone and voice.
- Assist with writing and editing of social content, as needed.
- If appropriate, respond to online inquiries and support crisis management efforts, or triage messages to appropriate teams for response.
Requirements/Qualifications for the Social Media Engagement Specialist:
- Preferred: Degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
- Required: 5+ years of communications experience, including 2+ years in digital communications and social media management.
- Expertise in social media monitoring, engagement, and community management across platforms like LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, BlueSky, and Reddit.
- Proficient in social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and content management systems.
- Flexible schedule, available for evenings and weekends.
- Experience in crisis management and issue escalation is a plus.
